Private Swim Instructor/Head Coach
My name is Elizabeth and I moved to Vail in August of 2023. My main goal while working with swimmers of all ages is that everyone in the water is having fun while gaining the confidence, comfort and skills required to be safe as they continue to explore more advanced swimming opportunities. My love for water and competitive swimming began at a young age and continued into adulthood. At 15 I became a mentor for swimmers in stroke clinics and life guarding at local pools. I went on to manage pools, instruct swim lessons, coach youth and masters swim teams and I run my own swim lesson program; teaching private and group lessons at the Denver Athletic Club. I have extensive experience working with toddler through middle school age students.
I attended the University of Denver where I graduated with a BA in Communication. While I was studying there, I volunteered in an afterschool program tutoring elementary age students and worked at the YESS Institute as an assistant instructor in social and emotional awareness for middle and high school students in Denver Public Schools. I went on to receive Montessori Teaching Certificates from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in both Lower and Upper Elementary education. While receiving my certifications I worked as an assistant teacher in a Lower Elementary classroom (1st - 3rdgrade) and as a lead teacher in an Upper Elementary classroom (4th-6thgrade) at Denison Montessori in Denver Public Schools. I taught in the classroom setting until I had my oldest daughter in 2015. In my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors and playing board games with my family.

Instructor
Hi! My name is Annie Egan, and I'm excited to start teaching swim lessons again. I have always enjoyed swimming and began to swim competitively around age seven. From there I went on to being my high school's swim team captain and swimming for my D3 college team for a few years. While in college and for several years after, I taught swimming on the side. I enjoy helping young swimmers with their first few kicks and supporting more seasoned swimmers with stroke technique. I have been a middle school teacher for eleven years, so I have a lot of patience and experience working with kids. I also have a three-year-old, who is starting to swim!
